Description:

Good full, deep red. Ripe raspberry, orange peel, spices and licorice complicated by musky soil tones on the noble nose. Order from the Largest & Most Trusted Premium Spirits Marketplace! , Wine Advocate: Red currant, kirsch, freesia, citrus zest, and smoky black tea in the nose lead to a palate performance of brightness, wafting florality, and interactive complexity such would befit a great Riesling, with saline and subtly carnal savor as well as a crystalline sense of minerality shimmering through a long finish., Allen Meadows:This was considered a great, great vintage in northern California, but not all wines have aged well. This one is a powerful mouthful of very direct, ripe berry fruit flavours that still seem young and aromas of spice and blackberry. (EM) NOTICE: Many other small liquor store sites may end up cancelling your order due to the high demand, unavailability or inaccurate inventory counts. Producer: Lucien Le Moine Ratings:WA'|'95''AM'| 93 Vintage: 2008 Size:750ml ABV:14% Varietal: Pinot Noir Country/Region: France, Burgundy Good full, deep red. Ripe raspberry, orange peel, spices and licorice complicated by musky soil tones on the noble nose. Sweet on entry, then much more backward and withdrawn than the Haut-Doix, communicating an impression of brooding power. This very deep, savory wine is as much about earth as it is about fruit, and will require patience once it's bottled. Reviews: Lucien Le Moine is a small n'gociant house in Burgundy's C'te de Beaune region. Established in 1999, it produces Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from around the C'te d'Or, from village-level, premier cru and grand cru vineyards. Le Moine produces wine from several grand cru sites, including Bonnes-Mares, Le Montrachet, Echezeaux and Richebourg. As well as some of Burgundy's most famous premier cru sites such as Les Amoureuses. Vineyards that Le Moine recieve grapes from are among the most sought-after in Burgundy. Several village-level wines are also included in the portfolio, as well as generic Bourgogne Rouge and Blanc offerings. Constantly re-evaluating its sources, production at Lucien Le Moine fluctuates greatly and never exceeds 100 barrels or roughly 30,000 bottles. Limited cellar space means that some crus can consist of a single barrel and result in only 300 bottles. Lucien Le Moine is focused on the 'levage period of winemaking. Wines are aged on their lees, and malolactic fermentation is put off as long as possible to produce softer wines with fewer sulphites. Depending on the vintage, battonage is used to maximize contact with the lees. Lucien Le Moine uses 100 percent new oak from the Jupilles forest in northwest of France. The wines are bottled directly from barrel with no blending, fining or filtering.
