Size: 700ML Proof: 81.6 (40.8% ABV) Origin: Scotland Distillery: Glenburgie This expression was distilled in 1980, and set aside to age for four decades in a refill hogshead before being bottled in June 2021. It was bottled by Douglas Laing for the Xtra Old Particular range, with just 233 bottles produced. Nose: The nose immediately delivers on barley with citrus peels then develops to a wonderfully rich, buttery style. Palate: The palate is mouth-coatingly thick and moreish. There's vanilla cream with a sweet malty character alongside chocolate shavings and ripe apricots. Finish: The long finish reveals more creamy/caramel depth with a warming spicy quality apparent too.
