Description:
This gin is made from herbs and spices such as licuorice root, cardamom, star anise, orange blossom and juniper berries. A tasting reveals hints of lemon and blood orange and a distant note of horseradish on the palate, providing a certain zest and a gentle pungency. Size: 700ML Proof: 80 (40% ABV) Origin: Netherlands Distillery: John Tony's John Tony's Gin comes to us from The Netherlands, and has quite a story behind it. Evidently, John Tony was a barber from back in the days of yore, but he was also a gin-maker! When Prohibition was cracking down on people serving booze, John Tony found himself on the wrong side of the law and, subsequently, behind bars (meaning prison, not bars where you go to drink - figured we should be clear on that). His gin recipe was lost, until four chaps from Amsterdam found a bottle floating in the river and discovered the recipe! Quite a tale indeed. Nose: Aroma is very pleasant. Palate: Lovely, mild on the tongue with a slight burn at the end. Finish: Rich and smooth.
