You might be thinking those words all work OK by themselves, but when put together it's just nonsense - stick with it, everything will make sense. This expression is a collaborative effort between Emma Stokes (who you will know as Gin Monkey), Chicago's FEW Spirits and That Boutique-y Gin Company, combining grapefruit, pink peppercorn and monkey picked oolong tea. It's not actually "monkey picked", of course. That's just a legend coming from how the trees where the leaves were picked are grown at high altitudes and particularly hard to reach spots. These days the term is used to signify that the tea is of the highest quality from high-up places. Monkey Tea Party Gin. Get it now? Good. Nose: Enjoyably vegetal, though balances with citrus zest and a hint of peach. Palate: A splendid taste with a warm feel to it. Not to smoky but silky smooth. Finish: Rich and smooth.
