Founded in 1621 as a physicke (physic) garden for the teaching of herbal medicine, Oxford Botanic Garden was planted during the 1640s, with a catalogue kept of all the plants grown.
The Oxford Artisan Distillery is the only distillery in the entire world to be allowed access to both the garden and the catalogue. It's from this that the inspiration for Physic Gin's 25 botanicals are taken, with wormwood, rue and sweet woodruff among them. Nose: Full-bodied aroma. Palate: A splendid taste with a warm feel to it. Not to smoky but silky smooth. Finish: Quite rich and lovely smooth texture.
