Size: 700ML Proof: 84 (42% ABV) Origin: United Kingdom Distillery: Papillon Dartmoor This limited Carabus edition from Papillon Gin has steered its sights away from butterflies, and instead celebrates a rare Dartmoor beetle! The blue ground beetle (also known as carabus intricatus) was thought to be extinct until it was rediscovered on Dartmoor in 1985, so the folks at the distillery are donating a portion from each bottle sold to Buglife, a UK invertebrate conservation trust. It's all about the woodland botanicals in here, with the likes of rowan and hawthorn berries, nettles, wood sorrel, and roasted hazelnuts. Nose: Aroma is very pleasant. Palate: This is extremely rich and very balanced in taste. Finish: Perfect, long lasting finish.
